Dot.dot.dot is an interactive design installation that uses the Twitter stream to draw artwork based on a specific words, given at a specific time. Users are asked to enter a word and watch the pattern change whenever your word is tweeted, in real time; everything a tweet is posted containing the word entered the pattern changes direction by 90° clockwise.
A mini thermal printer will then print the bespoke artwork for participants to take away or pin up to become part of the exhibition. The piece is also accompanied by lexicon publication displaying the 50 most popular male and female names in the UK alongside their individual patterns.
Made using Processing 3 and Twitter API.
